INDIVIDUAL COACHING: I work with individual artists, creative professionals, and creative entrepreneurs to bring their ideas, projects, and creative businesses to fruition. My individual clients include published writers, professional musicians, podcasters, screenwriters, and a variety of creative entrepreneurs. ORGANIZATIONAL COACHING & CONSULTING: My organizational coaching and consulting work focuses on creativity and innovation, leadership development, executive coaching, team collaboration, and career transitions. My clients range from Fortune 500 tech companies to startups, engineering and medical device firms, state agencies, philanthropic organizations, non-profit leaders and small business owners to individual academics, bloggers, novelists, memoirists, screenwriters, business school applicants, actors, musicians, graphic designers, and other creative professionals. I've worked with leaders, executives, and individual contributors from Apple, Dell, AMD, GM, Indeed, Dropbox, Rev.com, Goodwill Industries, and many more. I am also the founder of Austin Writing Coach and co-founder of Syncreate, and I offer a variety of workshops and retreats designed to enhance creativity in life and work, and to foster communication, collaboration, and community. Melinda's Coaching Philosophy
Take care of your heart, and the rest will take care of itself...How can you make your life an ongoing work of art, personally, professionally, and creatively speaking? How do you bring quality and elegance into all of your endeavors? How do you infuse your relationships and projects with a sense of mindfulness, full engagement, brilliance, and compassion? As a leader, how can you use mindfulness techniques to support team creativity and collaboration to create a culture of innovation? How can you create a life that is satisfying and fulfilling, imbued with meaning and purpose?
Using the wide palette of academic study and research, professional training, mindfulness and meditation experience, and creative tools, skills, and insights I have received over the years, I work with individuals and organizations to cultivate and nurture their creativity throughout all aspects of life. I draw from a broad range of wisdom traditions, including Eastern and Western psychology, consciousness and spirituality studies, performance studies, communications and writing, expressive arts therapy, coaching practices, mindfulness practice, and contemplative arts disciplines to determine what is most needed for each client in each moment. Our work together is a unique collaboration in service of creative flourishing and self-actualization.
