I’m Melinda Rothouse, PhD, and I help individuals and organizations bring their creative dreams and visions to life. On the Syncreate podcast, I share stories of the creative journey with you. We talk to changemakers and visionaries and everyday creatives working in a wide array of fields and disciplines. Our goal is to explore creativity in all its facets, and to gain a better understanding of the creative process – from imagination to innovation and everything in between.

Melinda Joy is a singer-songwriter/bass player whose songs interweave poetic lyrics (many originally written as stand-alone poems) with bass and melody lines that draw from a variety of genres. Soulful, jazzy, and lush, her sound has been described as "Southern Gothic." She currently writes and performs both solo and with Son of Cormack, HoneyBones (a new duo project with Juro Kosec), and Ravens 5. Her new award-winning single and music video, Out of the Blue, a duet with Son of Cormack, released on June 5, 2026. She has released two full-length studio albums, Beautiful Illusions (2020) and Unbound (2004) (Unbound featured her first band, M.J. Baby & The Last Word).
